North Central State College

This is grant funded position that is housed at North Central State College but is responsible for collaborating with the 23 public community colleges in the State of Ohio, the Ohio Association of Community Colleges, The Ohio Department of Higher Education, OhioLink and other grant partners. The Innovation grant, awarded in June of 2016 by the Ohio Department of Higher Education, created material for 23 high enrollment courses for use statewide. The courses are located on a sub-hub of OhioLink and have been reviewed by community college and university faculty experts. The Grant has been extended for one year with the possibility of a second year (through June 2022) in order to provide faculty support for embedding these materials into classes and aiding with any technology issues that might prevent them from taking full advantage of the material.

Essential duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Support & Promote Implementation of OER Materials
Design & develop on-demand, highly engaging online material to educate and support adoption of Ohio Open Ed Collaborative (OOEC) materials for Ohio college instructors & instructional support staffs
Design, develop & facilitate interactive synchronous opportunities to Ohio college faculty & instructional support staffs (train the trainer) for educating, consulting and implementing OOEC & OER solutions
Collaborate with OhioLink & Open Ed organizations to analyze existing OER instructional material and best practices for opportunities to compliment/ supplement OOEC materials & adoption programs
Design, adapt & develop assessment tools to enhance/compliment/ assess OOEC & OER materials adoptions
Identify opportunities for & promote collaboration among Ohio colleges to support & promote OOEC OER materials implementation & adoption
Actively capture & promote OOEC adoption success case studies from each sector of Ohio colleges from Communities of Practice
Ensure all OOEC OER adoption & implementation resources apply, model & promote practical application of proven advanced adult learning principles
Ensure design of all OOEC OER adoption & implementation resources reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners, including cultural diversity differences that may apply
Communicate with stakeholders effectively in visual, oral and written form and facilitate collegial, interactive, substantive dialog on ongoing progress and opportunities for continual improvement of OOEC adoption support.
Assist with NCSC Quality Matters review processes and promote opportunities & linkages between QM rubric standards and OOEC OER materials.
Other duties as assigned

Provide Technical Assistance
Assist Ohio college instructional support staffs & faculty with resources & limited assistance for editing OOEC OER material to meet the needs of students
Provide Ohio college instructional support staffs & faculty limited assistance for how to use common online tools & techniques to implement OOEC OER
Troubleshoot technical problems with OOEC OER materials via documented faculty or student issues
Other duties as assigned

Grant Activity
Represent NC State on the ODHE OER Innovation Grant Steering Team
Organize, Facilitate & Launch OOEC Grant Communities of Practice Sustainability Initiative
Other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design or related field
Experience: Instructional experience required
