Academic Instructional Technologist - Classroom and Engagement

About the Opportunity

The Academic Technologies (AT) team at Northeastern University (NU) seeks a motivated, self-starting individual to be a member of our dynamic team as an Academic Instructional Technologist.

The successful candidate will be a key link between the AT team and the teaching and learning community at NU, including faculty, staff, students, the Provost's office, EDGE, CATLR, the colleges, network campuses, and business/support units, as well as outside users and partners.

There are two primary goals of this role:

  • To help partners understand and utilize media and engagement tools for teaching and learning, especially in using our Microsoft Teams integration with Canvas, using tablets in the classroom, and including developing custom advanced workflows that support personalization.

  • This role will also collaborate with other ITS technical infrastructure staff (within Academic Technologies and in other departments such as Digital University Solutions and Experience and Customer Experience) to identify opportunities for improving the fit between Northeastern's innovative use cases and the services offered by Microsoft Teams, Panopto and other media and engagement platforms used for teaching and learning.

This is a hybrid role, with some days remote and other days worked in-person on one of Northeastern's campuses. This role will be based out of Mills College at Northeastern University, where most in-person work will be performed, so a standard commute to Oakland on many days should be expected.

There may be up to 30% travel to other Northeastern University locations. While in-person work will be performed primarily on west coast campuses, the role will provide online consultation, training, and ticketing support for the Northeastern global community.

At Team ITS, your success matters as much as the mission. Learn more about our flexible, highly dynamic, and values-first culture at careers.its.northeastern.edu.
