Educational Media Specialist

Penn State Great Valley's Instructional Design Department, located in Malvern, PA, has an opening for a full-time Educational Media Specialist. This position will primarily support educational multimedia production and maintenance in the development and delivery of online and resident courses that are part of Penn State Great Valley's programs. The applicant who fills this position will work closely with both faculty and the Instructional Design department and will be responsible for conceptualizing, processing, and producing audio, video, animations, graphics, infographics, and other media as well as advising faculty on videos, best practices, and multimedia elements. This individual will also update and maintain the Great Valley Instructional Design website.

The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Proficient knowledge of media technology, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 and other professional-grade video or animation production software
  • Ability to incorporate best practices for educational videos to interpret and communicate information and ideas clearly, accurately, and persuasively
  • Ability to incorporate new facts and ideas into group processes and apply creative thinking in developing new solutions
  • Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner while establishing effective working relationships with and providing training/guidance to faculty
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and/or Javascript and instructional design or educational video design experience are desirable


This position typically requires an Associate's degree or higher (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
